Introduction
To set up and connect to the virtual private network (VPN) on iOS devices, you will need to:
- Install the Ivanti Secure Access Client
- Set up your VPN connection
Install the Ivanti Secure Access Client
Get the Ivanti Secure Access Client from the App Store.
Set up your VPN connection
Once installed you will need to add a connection and configure the VPN server settings.
- Open the app and choose whether or not you would like to allow it to send you notifications (either selection does not affect the function of the VPN client).
- Enter the VPN server address, vpn.cc.umanitoba.ca, and tap Connect.
- Enter the connection name, UofM-VPN, and tap Connect.
- You will now be prompted to make changes to the iOS VPN settings. Select Allow and enter your security passcode.
- When you connect to the UofM-VPN, you will be prompted to accept the terms of use agreement. On the Pre Sign-In Notification screen, tap Proceed.
- Enter your UM email address and select Next.
7. Enter your password.
8. A window will open with a number code displayed.
9. Check your authenticating device.
- Open your Microsoft Authenticator app
- Enter the number code
- Select Yes.
The Connections screen will show your active UM connection. You may tap on the active connection and select Disconnect when you wish to terminate the connection.
